IBS Support Group

I had a great time last week at our IBS Support Group! This group of ours meets monthly and we talk about everything from how we feel when our IBS gets in the way of life to new medication and diets. Last week we talked about all of the above and FODMAPS came up. For those of you who don’t know FODMAPS are fermentable carbohydrates and for some when they are consumed can act as fast food for the gut wrecking havoc on our digestive system. Leaving in it’s wake symptoms of bloating, gas, diarrhea and at times constipation. The solution a Low FODMAP diet. I use this diet readily in practice and at times have to remind myself not everyone has heard of it and schools are not teaching it. This is why at our next IBS Support Group we will have an in-depth discussion on this diet. I hope to see you there October 18th at 5:30 pm 159 Barnegat Rd. Let’s see if these symptoms can be remedied
