He then attended Daemen College in Amherst, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in health science in 2004.
Since completing his undergraduate studies, Waleed has practiced as a Physician Assistant (PA) in a variety of settings, including urgent care facilities, nursing homes and hospital emergency departments including Vassar Brother Medical Hospital. Waleed has also helped care for the acute needs of nursing home patients.
